Legend of a New Republic Charter

Legend of a New Republic has Chapters across several games. Each has their own Co-Leadership team that leads each Chapter and ensures that the LNR mission, culture and spirit is fully realized.

This is the Core Charter that is shared amongst all Chapters. Each Charter is refined for each Chapter for the unique requirements for each game by the Co-Leaders, but all retain this core element.

Legend of a New Republic [LNR] has guild chapters across a few games.

Introduction

Legend lives and breathes by its Charter. Our Charter is the cornerstone of our family. It is a guide, rulebook, and code of conduct for everyone to abide by in order to ensure that Legend is perceived as an honorable, beneficent, and respected organization by the community. When you become a new member of Legend, you are agreeing to this Charter. Each member is expected to maintain the highest standards of courtesy and respect toward other players’ right to enjoy the game. We will always try to take the 'high road' and always behave in a respectful manner. Documented violations of stated Rules are punishable as deemed appropriate by Legend Leadership by warnings, fines, and eventual removal from the guild. Any immediate removals will be discussed later by leadership and will vote to determine if the individual will be invited to return once the Co-Leaders have a chance to meet.

Remember, your actions everywhere reflect Legend. Let's all strive to be the BEST.

What does Legend strive to be known as?

  • Helpfulness (call for help and assistance comes)
  • Community Involvement
  • Guild grouping, RAIDS, specific dungeon questing
  • Organization (structure, charter, rules, policies, etc)

How we will do this

  • Communication is vital to our success. Members are encouraged to bring up issues and concerns that they feel may impact Legend. Legend will foster an open and communicative atmosphere. A successful Guild deals with its problems and fixes them. It does not run away from them.
  • We are a Family Guild and even family members can disagree. Legend disputes are to be privately brought to the Co-Leaders. We do not air disagreements in public (including the forums, both here and the official site) or act in a dishonorable fashion in public. If the situation cannot be worked out amongst the players, they are to bring the case before the Co-Leaders; both sides will have the opportunity to state their case and the Co-Leaders will make a ruling and that ruling will be final.
  • This is an open Guild that is inclusive in nature (rather than exclusive) welcoming all who follow and help enforce the charter
  • Members are encouraged to participate in Guild raids and events. Please remember that the Officer Team and Members who have organized these events invested time and effort into them. The Guild should do what it can to support them. This cements our bonds as a Guild and makes us stronger. However, there will be no pressure to attend any Guild raid or event as we all understand that players have a life other than gaming.
  • Membership in general will change over time. People will lose interest in the game; others will want to try something different. If you do end up leaving for any reason, please spend a few minutes before leaving and chat with the Co-Leaders so we can learn and grow. The only problems we can fix are the ones that people bring up.

Five simple rules of Legend

1. Be a GOOD person to group with and respectful to others. Do not intentionally cause undue strife to another player (grief).

2. Members may not excessively beg for coin or other items in general, tell, or guild chats. There are many members in the Guild who can help you attain what you need (you just may want to offer help before you ask for it).

3. Verbal abuse or harassment towards anyone will not be tolerated and are grounds for immediate removal. The members with which you serve are both male and female, and represent different races, colors, religions, national origins, and species. Do not make national origin or religious comments, jokes, slurs or discount other member’s beliefs.

4. General/Group/Guild/ Voice chat are to always remain PG at all times. Everyone is expected to refrain from using cursing or sexual references in your public conversations. You represent the Guild in all things you say and do.

5. Guild bashing, threats, mutiny, indicating in guild chat that you are leaving the guild, or recruiting for other guilds is grounds for immediate removal from the Guild without warning. Note: this does not preclude free speech. There is a distinct difference between criticism and bashing. Constructive criticism is always welcome and you are encouraged to post that here on the website.

Suggestions

  • Try not to spam Guild Chat.
  • Follow the Leader: In order to promote an enjoyable group experience, all members of a group should agree upon a Leader (whether it is the actual Leader of the group for game mechanics, or not) and follow the group Leader's instructions wherever possible. If you disagree with the leader’s instructions or decisions, do not air them in spatial, group, or guild chat. Only disagree with the leader by using /tell.
  • Looting rights should be agreed to in advance.
