'Vicious beasts have grown numerous in the copses along the road, and we don't have enough dwarves to keep the paths clear. It's shameful, really, that we have let the wild overrun our paths. As long as dwarves dwell here, the ways should be safe.

'If you want to be of help, patrol from Noglond to the top of the Vale of Thráin and clear out any beasts you find. We're having the most trouble with bears, hendrevail, and lynx.

'With your help, we will make the road safe once more.'

Background:

Vicious animals have grown numerous in the copses along the road through the Vale of Thráin, making travel through the Vale unsafe.
